Set Up a New Number

Buying a new number

In order to add a number for an agent so that they can make calls or send messages through the HQS website, they will need to set up a new phone number in Twilio.

To do this, start by logging into the Twilio website and you will be taken to the dashboard view for the Twilio Account.
Click the “View all numbers” link to view all of the numbers set up in Twilio.
From this view, you either click the “Buy a number” button on the upper right or in the sidebar on the left to start making a new number. This will take you to the view below.

This view shows a list of numbers that are available to buy. The columns show the phone number, where it originates from, whether it is local or international, whether it supports voice, SMS, MMS, or Fax, and the how much the numbers costs per month.

There are filters at the top if you want to have specific digits in the number or have certain capabilities for it or search in a specific country. The US is selected by default. The Advanced Search section provides more specific filter options.

Once you have decided on a number then you just need to click the “Buy” button to have this number added to the list.

Note: For the purposes of the HQS website you will want to make sure and get a number that supports Voice, SMS, and MMS.
