Creating a New Unit

Creating From Backend

To start creating a new mobile home unit, you will need to access the backend of the website via https://homequestsales.com/wp-admin.

First, you need to navigate to the New Units module in the backend by hovering your mouse over “New Units” in the sidebar on the left side.
Click the “Add New Unit” button in the submenu to be taken to the form below: You will need to scroll down a bit until you see the Title section.
You will need to specify a title or name for the unit. This will be something like “Silvercrest TR24 x 56” for example.

Next you will want to scroll down on the form till you see New Unit Details. The other parts of the form are ok as is and don’t need to be changed.

There are multiple tabs you can switch between to show different fields but the default one you see is New Unit Details.

New Unit Details

In this section you just enter the basic details of the unit such as price, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, energy class, etc.

New Unit Media

In this section, you can upload one or more images for the new unit by clicking the “Upload new Image” button and selecting from the media library.

You can also have a link to a video hosted on vimeo, youtube, or rumble by entering the id of the video which can be found in the url to the video. A placeholder image will be shown when the video is unavailable.

The virtual tour is a url to the page showing a virtual tour of the unit.

New Unit Custom Fields

This section has additional fields for extra details pertaining to the unit including Unit ID, Model No, Type of Roofing and Structure, etc.

Floor Plans

To upload a floor plan, you just click the “Add New Plan” button on the bottom of the section. You can add as many plans as you like. Fill in the basic plan details and then upload an image of the plan.

Be sure to select “Use Floor Plans” if you want the floorplans to show on the frontend.

Upgrades & Amenities

The last two tabs deal with the upgrades and amenities. The first one shows a list of all of the amenities that are available to select from and the second tab shows all of the amenities that were selected for this unit.

To select an amenity, you select the checkbox on all that apply and they will show on the second tab.

You have the option for showing 10, 25, 50, or 100 amenities at a time and you can search for a specific amenity by typing a few characters into the Search field on the right side. The list will instantly filter to match any records that contain what you typed in.

Unit Size

At the bottom of the form, you will need to enter the width and length of the unit in feet.

Checkbox Options

On the right side of the form you will see a sidebar with checkbox options for selecting Categories, Model, Type, Unit Status, and Manufacturer. Just select all that apply.

If you don’t see an option in the list that you need you can create a new option by clicking the corresponding “Add New —” button in that section.

Saving Info

Once you are done entering in all of the info, then to save it you click on the “Publish” button to create the new unit.

Creating from Lead

There is a shorter version of the form that can be used to quickly create a new unit when creating a new lead.

When you create a new lead and the housing type is New Home then the “Add New Unit” link will show above the Unit field.
If you click this link, then the dialog below will pop-up to enter the minimal unit info for creating a new unit.
You will need to enter the name for the Unit, Manufacturer, Model, Price, Number of Bedrooms, Number of Bathrooms, Size in Sq Feet, Width, and Length. All of these fields are required to create a new unit.

If you don’t see the manufacturer that you need in the drop-down, then you can quickly add a new manufacturer by going to the bottom of the list and typing in the new manufacturer and then clicking the plus icon.
In the same way you can quickly add a new Model to the list as well.
Once you have entered all of the required fields, then click “Save Unit” to create the new unit.
